Mp3 Streaming : Configuring Netscape for Mac

Step 1. Click Edit on the Netscape toolbar.

Step 2. Select Preferences at the bottom of the pull-down.

Step 3. In the Category window on the left, click Navigator, then Applications.

Step 4. You'll see a list of file types. Browse the list to look for something that resembles the player your browser is currently defaulting to (the player you DO NOT want to use). This can be tricky since names of players in this window are shortened. For example, MusicMatch will read Mmjb and Media Player reads MPLAYER2 File.

Step 5. Click on the player name once. Make sure it says audio/x-mp3 or mp3 under File type details.

Step 6. Now that you've found the right file type, click Edit.

Step 7. Click Choose to find the file name of the new player you want to default to. Click OK.

Step 8. Repeat steps 5 through 7, but this time you need to edit the default player for M3Us instead of MP3s. Look for M3U under File type details. (This will ensure proper default setting for streaming audio files.)

Step 9. Quit and restart Netscape.

Still having problems with your default settings?
· Make sure you closed and reopened your browser.
· Make sure you've edited all file types with MP3 and M3U extensions.
· Try contacting your player's company web site.
